White River Flooding
Here's a quick look this Monday morning at expected river levels along the White River in eastern Arkansas. Notice Clarendon not cresting until late in the week. Hopefully, we can keep heavy rain away to prevent any further problems. This flooding may exceed the December 1982 levels.

Channel 7 should take a trip to Maddox Bay (Holly Grove) in Monroe County. The flooding in that small community is getting very bad. From the looks of the upcoming forecast, it is just going to get worse.

Don't know who the emergency personnel were who said the folks in the Sandhill Community could go back but if they lived here and saw all that water, I don't think they would trust the levee system. Like everything else in Arkansas, tax money was not spent on important things like making sure our levee's are in working order. Then again, this kind of flooding doesn't happen but every 20 or 30 years. I live in the town area and to go down and look across the river it looks more like an ocean...too much water...everywhere.

Just thought you should know that the residents of the Sandhill Community have been told to evacuate the community because of the threat of the levy breaking.
