4 PM Monday Update... Another tornado track confirmed bringing total to 9. This one began 4.1 miles NW of Bismarck and ended 5.1 miles N-NE of Bismarck. It was rated an EF1
Noon Monday Update... Two more tracks confirmed bringing the total number of tornadoes Thursday April 3rd to 8. Both of the new tracks were rated EF1. The first one was .4 miles east of Gravel Ridge to 1 mile E-NE of Gravel Ridge. The next one was 2.6 miles north of Jacksonville and ended 3.8 miles north-northeast of Jacksonville. This tornado was spawned in a remote area on the east side of the Little Rock Air Force Base. Both tracks were under two miles in length.
8 PM Sunday Update...A sixth tornado track has been found 3.5 miles southwest of Cabot to 1.1 miles east of Ward. This tornado went through residential areas of Cabot. The length of the track was 9.4 miles and has been given the rating of EF2.
10 AM Sunday Update... A fifth tornado track has now been confirmed and the survey completed. This one began about 1.7 miles north of Levy in North Little Rock and continued through the North Little Rock airport into Sherwood and Gravel Ridge. The tornado has been given the rating of EF2. It caused millions of dollars in damage to the North Little Rock airport. This also hit Sylvan Hills High School and the Sherwood sports complex. The survey team is working in Cabot this morning looking at that damage and we'll have the latest information for you here and on Channel 7 news.
4 PM Saturday Update... Another tornado track is now confirmed in Pulaski county. This tornado was the one I saw personally. The beginning point is near the I-630 and Barrow road intersection. It continued on the ground through Leawood into Cammack Village. This was an EF1 with winds of 86 mph to 110 mph.
In addition to the two yesterday confirmed in Saline county, another one tracked from near Haskell to Benton. This was an EF1. This makes a total so far of 4 tornadoes with more surveys to be conducted.
Below is a doppler radar image of the supercell in Saline county. The red triangles are the tornado reports. Notice the "hook" feature NE of Benton. That's the tornado.

11 AM Update... Just got back from the Leawood subdivision in Little Rock. This is where I saw the tornado last night as I drove into the station. The hardest hit area I could find was along Biscayne Drive. It's important to note that all the damage I saw was from trees falling on houses. This is an indication that the rating on the tornado may be on the lower end of the fujita scale. We won't know officially until the weather service completes their survey. I talked to several who live here and all got their warning from the sirens and television. One lady even said her power went out and she grabbed her daughters battery powered Barbie radio and listened to weather reports and kept up with the information that way.
3 PM Update... I have received new information from the National Weather Service survey team. Here are some of their preliminary findings...
EF2 damage at Sherwood from Loop road to Kellogg road. EF2 damage at the North Little Rock airport. EF2 damage at Hurricane Meadows in Saline county. EF2 damge at Springhill road to N. Lake Road in Saline county. An EF2 tornado will have winds from 111 mph to 135 mph. More information will become available as they continue the survey this weekend.
Thanks to everyone for the nice e-mails. Here are a couple I thought were especially interesting...
"I don't normally watch Channel 7, but you guys had the tornado pegged. Channel ** was showing the tornado near Arch St. heading toward the Quapaw area. At that exact time, I changed the channel to 7 and was surprised that you were tracking the tornado near Cantrell heading toward Cammack and were advising people in that area to take immediate shelter.
We all know now which weather team was right.
Good job guys!"
"Todd – I just want to say THANK YOU for your coverage last night. My sister was watching you and she lives in
