9 PM Sunday Update...The tornado which affect Carlise has been rated an EF1.  Two other small tornadoes have been confirmed...  one north of Brinkley and another near Cotton Plant.  Both of those were rated an EF0.  This brings the total statewide to 9 tornadoes.

9:30 AM Sunday Update...  More tornado tracks were found late Saturday.   In Chicot county, an EF1 tornado tracked from 7 miles WNW of Lake Village to 10 miles north of Lake Village.  The 400 yard wide tornado tracked for 10 miles with winds estimated at 110 mph.  No injuries reported

An EF3 tornado has been confirmed in northern Crittenden county.  It produced a continuous 12 mile long path of destruction which affected the communities of Earle, Heafer, Gilmore, and Turrell.  The tornado reached its peak intensity in Earle where it produced winds of  155-165 mph.  4 injuries were reported here.

6:30 Update...The National Weather Service has placed a preliminary rating of EF3 on the tornado that tracked from Birdtown in Conway county to Damascus in Van Buren county.

6 PM Friday Update...  No doubt about it, it was a very sad day.  Several of our fellow Arkansans lost their life.  I know that in the days to come though, this state will do what it always has done and always will do...come together and rebuild.   We'll take the lessons of today and apply them to tomorrow and hope we can get people to safety faster.

We'll continue to follow the survey work of the National Weather Service over the next few days as teams fan out through the state.  There will be many tornadoes confirmed and some very, very strong.  Below are pictures from Keo along Highway 15 from Lewis Morris

i, too, feel 4 everyone who suffered thru the havoc of the tornado in the pics. May God bless them 2 get everything back.

did Vickie Johnson take these scary photos? her hubby, David, was showing some just like them @ work one day this wk. he told us that it was coming right at them & there was nowhere they could go, so she took pics. they thought about getting in a ditch near them but they deemed it no protection. i think the tornado veered before taking them away or else went over them or something. Thank God!

i, too, am grateful 4 signing up 4 weather call....Ned has already called me a couple of times! Such a wonderful FREE service, gives me time 2 get myself & my son 2 shelter...such a blessing!

THAN U, KATV!

Thank you 7 weather team !!!!! About a week or so ago my wife ask me to sign up for TV7 alert call, and like any good husband , I saluted and did as I was told. Good that I did because I got the call May 2nd that the Tornado was about to hit us. We had just enough time to make it to the shelter before it hit us. This was the first time I have every been in one and I hope the last but it is wonderful to know 7 call will be there for us. Thanks again Ned,, Jim Thayer, Damascus

Do you already have information concernng possible tornado damage in Delight, Arkansas, in Pike County on May 2? It supposedly touched down on the Billstown Hwy and traveled behind the pole yard. Since I didn't see it listed in your blog, I thought I would mention it.

Karen, the National Weather Service has only confirmed one tornado in that section of the state. It was in Howard county near Umpire. I will forward your information to the survey team and they may take a look at it. Thanks, Todd Yakoubian

I live in Higden right next door to Greers Ferry. Around 8:30am we got our first call from Ned giving us a heads up. Shortly after we lost all power (television, internet) so the next call from Ned letting us know we needed to take cover "right now" was much appreciated. What a great service and a life saver. Our area lost around 194 homes, the most of any area but greatfully no deaths. With Channel 7 watching out for us we have time to prepare and be safe. Thanks again.

I have enjoyed and used your regional radar with motion for quite some time now. It has been very helpful to me to see exactly what the weather was going to be doing at the exact spot I was going to be. Please bring it back. The new regional satilite/radar shows no motion and it's not as useful as the old map.
