New Futurecast 3D

Monday Update...The new web content is up and running so check it out.  We have had many request a more localized radar, watch/warning maps, and state temperatures on our web site.  Also the ability to loop radar was a highly requested feature.  Now, it's ALL on there!  Again, if you have any suggestions on what YOU want to see or any comments on how Weather Call 7 is working for you, please leave a comment below.

This project has been in the works for the past few months with intense training the past two weeks on our new weather graphics system.  No weather graphic system in Little Rock television shows you the weather like this does.  Some of the features include virtual earth, 3D, and a product called metrovision.  Virtual earth allows us to zoom into any location in the country right down to the city street.  The mapping is high resolution down to 1 meter.  You will also notice our exclusive model, "Futurecast" is now in 3D.  Another new feature is called metrovision.  This will actually show you what we think the weather will look like tonight and tomorrow.  The graphics look incredible and  when you see it, I think you will agree.

So what does this mean to you as a viewer?   We believe this new system allows us to tell you the "weather story"  better than ever before.  We have worked hard to give you the things you have asked for.

Below is an example of virtual earth of Downtown Little Rock.  It shows you how nice the high resolution mapping is.

This is where your help is needed.  We want your comments and suggestions about Futurecast 3D.  Also, we have signed up thousands for WeatherCall 7.  With all the severe weather we have had lately, how has it worked for you?  Leave a post below.

Weather Call 7 is a Godsend!!!! Thank you so much. We just moved out to the "boonies" (outside city limits of Ward) in the Butlerville area and there are no city sirens there to alert us to tornados. With our satellite service konking out during storms we really depend on the Weather Call 7 alerts. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU They were so helpful in April when the tornado ripped thru Cabot (within a couple of blocks of our house). We knew just when to jump into the closet for relative safety. It's a great program and even poor disabled folks like me can afford it!

I THINK THE FUTURECAST 3D SISTEM IS COOL YOU GUYS ARE DOING A GREAT JOB AND I ALSO HAVE A STRONG FASAITION WITH THE WEATHER AND I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD BECOME A STORM CHASER ?

Buddy
I THINK THIS IS A GREAT SHOT. I TOO LOVE THE NEW 3-D TECHNOLOGY. WOW!

Does Todd have a family member with an amateur radio license? Somewhere in our records we have a storm report to Skywarn from another Yacoubian. I'll check the file for a date, name of his report. Let's hear more from him on the radio!

Jerry, send me an e-mail. I am a HAM radio operator and listen in quite freqently on the net...Todd

The weather cam is AMAZING!

I appreciate the "calls"...on Wye Mountain, there are no sirens, and your alerts could be life saving.

tHANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WEATHERCALL 7. I CAN NOT HEAR THE SIREN HERE IN LAKE HAMILTON, WEATHERCALL 7 HAS CALLED ME 6 TIMES IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS.

looking good!!!!!!!

Yes, I was pleased to get a severe thunderstorm alert the other day! It helps me keep aware of weather situations, especially since my office is an inside cubicle and I don't see the outside often.

B Wingard
Pretty cool! It makes it easier to relate the weather to your particular location compared to a blob of yellow or red on a map of the state.

Keep up the good work and keep technology coming!

THE NEW WEATHER 3 D IS NEAT. WEATHER CALL IS GREAT. WE LIVE IN SARDIS. IN THE PAST IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN HARD TO DECIDE IF WE NEED TO GO TO THE METHODIST CHURCH WHEN THERE IS A TORNADO WARING ISSUED FOR SALINE CO. BUT NOW WHEN NED CALLS WE KNOW IT IS HEADED OUR WAY. LIKE ON APRIL 3 WE HAD JUST GOT BACK FROM THE CHURCH. WE WERE WATCHING CHANNEL 7 MY HUSBAND WAS LIKE WE ARE NOT GOING BACK TO THE CHURCH. THEN NED CALLED LET'S GO! KATV IS THE GREATEST STATION IN ARKANSAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an idea, maybe if it's possible highlight where the worst of severe weather, snow storms and etc will be via the streets, as in which streets in which area's pinpointed will get the worst of a storm or at least an idea of where it might do it the worst.
