Flooding Possible Across Arkansas

As you have seen from our main weather page, flooding is a distinct threat Tuesday and Tuesday night across much of the state. I think the highest threat will be across western and northern Arkansas, but many areas could see several inches of rainfall. We will eliminate our rainfall deficit and it's possible for us to get our average March rain (4.88 inches) all within 24 hours. Flash flooding is a killer. Each year, more people die from flash flooding than from any other thunderstorm related hazard. Also, the National Weather Service has designated this Flood Safety Awareness Week.

If you live in a flood prone area, keep updated with the latest weather forecast and warnings. This is yet another reason why it's such a great idea to sign up for Weather Call 7. Possible rainfall over the next few days which indicates heavy rain for western and northern Arkansas. 4-6 inches.
