Flooding A Major Problem
Below is an image showing radar rainfall estimates. It shows 6-8 inches over the past 24 hours across northern Pope, Searcy, and Newton counties. In Stone County, the sheriffs office is asking people to stay off the roads as debris from the February 5th tornado is jamming drainage ditches and culverts. Rainfall will continue tonight with the focus moving into central and eastern Arkansas.
A severe threat continues for much of the southeastern half of the state. The National Weather Service confirmed one tornado yesterday near Cherry Hill in Polk county. It was weak and rated an EF 0 with a track of .3 miles.
This afternoon, wind damage has been confirmed in northeastern Arkansas.
Remember, don't drive into areas where water covers the road. River and stream levels will continue to rise even after the rain ends. Stay with KATV Channel 7 for the latest information.
