Stuttgart Tornado

Not even an absolute gorgeous sunset can mask the destruction in Stuttgart.  I was here Saturday night no more than an hour after the storm.  There was still water soaked insulation covering the street, and people were just coming to the realization of what had happened.  Tonight (Monday) I am in virtually the same spot I was on Saturday Night, and it looks totally different.  The trees that were blocking the road are now hauled off the road, and much of the small debris is picked up that was all over the ground on Saturday night.  The above picture was taken out the side door of Newstar.  We are at Meekins Middle School, and as you can see from the picture, it sustained substantial damage and as of now, officials are not sure if the students will even be returning to this building.  In the foreground, you can see parts of the radio tower that once stood just across the street from here.

Everytime I asked how someone is doing in any of these tornado-ravaged areas, everybody said back to me, "I'm Alive".  That is not the case in our neighboring states, but fortunately and amazingly, nobody died here Saturday night, and after seeing the destruction first hand, that is truly a miracle in itself.
