Sorry I have not posted in a few days. Last week, I got a call to head to Washington D.C. to pick up a second satellite truck for us to use. Because our tower fell, we have very limited microwave range for our live trucks. That's why we will be doing more satellite shots around town and hence the need for a second satellite truck This is Newstar's Sister-ship, Lil' Pard. I flew out on Tuesday morning, and arrived in D.C. around 3:00. The flight made two stops on the way to D.C. St. Louis and Chicago. I arrived in D.C. and the truck I was picking up was not ready for me to pick up yet, so, I went to see the sights on the Mall. (Click here) for pictures of D.C. First, I went into the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. If you have not been there, I highly suggest it. Next, I went to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. If you like airplanes or anything that has to do with aircraft in general, you must go when you are in D.C. Well, I got away from Washington around 5:30 Wednesday afternoon and spent the night in a town called Hillsville, Virginia. It is about 300 miles southwest of D.C. When I woke up Thursday morning, there was about four inches of snow on the ground. It was absolutely gorgeous! (click here for snowy pictures) I left Hillsville, and headed for Savannah, Georgia, where Huckabee was scheduled to do an appearance that night at the Savannah Airport. I arrived in Savannah around 3:00 Thursday afternoon. We did our live shots then headed to Bluffton, SC, where we spent the night Thursday night. The architecture in this area is absolutely beautiful. Even the Wendy's was rock-faced with Palm Trees around it. Gotta love palm trees! We got up Friday morning and headed to Rock Hill, SC. Huckabee was going to be on the campus of Winthrop University for a campaign stop. We arrived there around 12:00. At this event, Anne Pressly and I had our picture (scroll down to see the it) made with Pro Wrestler, Ric Flair. It was kind of neat having my picture made with someone I grew up watching on TV! We did the 5 and 6 shows from McBryde Hall, then headed to Columbia for the 10. We were at the Russell House Ball Room on the campus of South Carolina University, where Huckabee played with his band, "Capital Offense". Saturday, we did all of the shows from the Columbia Convention Center where Huckabee's watch party was. It was a fun, yet long trip. I have posted all pictures on my old blog due to the number and sizes of the pictures. You can visit the Vote 2008 blog for more info on the Campaigns.
One more thing, Thanks to XM, I have a theme song for this trip! It is "How Long" by the Eagles. GREAT song, and It just happened to play everytime I was in the truck on this 'long' trip. Ironic... Purhapse..... We will see how many times I hear it in the future!
Up next.... Who knows! That's what keeps it fun!
