At Home Spa Treatments


Did you know you can get a spa treatment without ever stepping foot in a day spa?  Just head to your kitchen cupboard.  Our thanks to Ava Bella Day Spa in West Little Rock for these recipes and tips for the ultimate head-to-toe spa treatment!!

*Yogurt-Honey Skin Masque*

1 cup plain yogurt

2 1/2 T. honey

1 tsp. lemon cuice (for oily skin)

warm water

-Mix together yogurt and honey (add lemon juice if oily skin).  Apply the masque to cleansed skin over entire face and neck.  Leave on for 5 miiutes.  Rise with warm water...repeat 1 to 2 times a week.

*Shower Scrib for Dry Skin*

1 medium cucumber, peeled and grated

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup sea salt or kosher salt

-Mix cucumber and buttermilk together in a smal bowl.  Add salt and blend into a thick paste.  Relax in warm shower for about 5 minutes to open pores.  Apply scrub, especially concentrating on elbows, knees, and ankles. Rinse.

*Coffee Break for Tired Feet*

1/4 cup sea salt

1 T. ground coffee beans

1 T. ground vanilla beans

1/4 cup olive oil

1 pot of coffee - room temperature

whipped cream (optional)

-Mix salt, coffee beans, vanilla beans, and olive oil.  Pour coffee in a basin and add whipped cream.  Place feet in the basin and soak for 10 minutes.  Take salt mixture and rub it over feet and calves - again concentrating on the callused areas.  Rinse with warm water.  Dry lightly and follow with a hydrating moisturizer.

thanks for the chance to enter to win the nice cosmetic basket for home viewers shown on todays morning show. I am caring for my husband who has a terminal and rare cancer and sometimes I think a little tlc would help-but at 66 it might take more than one basket to cover the droop-anyway it would be fun to win all that nice pampering....love your shows estpecially like the veternarians and always Dr David. You all make each day a smile to start and that always helps...love ya
