We had a fun crowd this morning as well..lots of kids. I always love when the kids come out because they say the funniest things and are so entertaining. We had one little two year old boy, Jackson, who was decked out in his cowboy hat and teeny cowboy boots. So cute!
When we were finished with our live shots, me and the rest of the crew sat down for breakfast (waffles, of course!). A man stopped by our table and said to me, "I know y'all probably get this at every town you go to, but I just wanted to let you know, I've lived here for 59 years. I own a local business with my brother and we could have moved somewhere else and made a lot more money, but you know, we chose to stay here. I love this town and we're all very proud to be here."
I was so glad he stopped and said that. It's so nice to hear people speak so highly of their town. That's the thing I keep noticing as we travel across the state; people are truly proud of where they live. I think that pride is such a wonderful quality and I have no doubt it is a driving force that makes this state what it is.
As for the rest of our day in Sheridan, we are supposed to feature the Jenkins Ferry battleground at 6 o'clock, but the problem is I've been told it's completely under water right now. So, if that is the case, we'll still have it in our 5 o'clock story and we'll feature the second place story, the Grant County Museum, for our 6 o'clock piece. We'll get it all in there somehow. I've have many people tell me the museum is one of the best in the state, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing that.
Enjoy your Wednesday! JD
