Diamonds and Dams in Murfreesboro

Day 24 is here. I cannot believe it. We got started this morning at Campbell's Family Restaurant in Murfreesboro. I really enjoyed the crowd. I was able to take some time and talk to a lot of people there and they were just very genuine and fun. It's a funny thing, the Daybreak shot. To be completely honest, I'm usually still very sleepy when we arrive at the restaurants in the morning, but by the end of the hour, I've had a ball and I'm very awake. A little coffee never hurts either.

I have to tell you, I've got a feeling I'm going to find a diamond today. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm definitely going to try when we visit the Crater of Diamonds State Park. We're also going to the Narrows Dam, which I've heard is really beautiful. Apparently the recent rainfall caused the high waters to flood over the dam last week for the first time since 1968. That was the talk of Campbell's this morning. We've also got to hit up Lake Greeson and the Ka-Do-Ha Indian Village.

I'm going to try and take it all in during this second to last day of our trip. I was talking with someone back in Little Rock about coming home and being finished with the Road Trip and we agreed I might have a little readjustment anxiety! It's going to be so strange not to climb into the RV and head out for a big adventure. On the plus side, I will have more normal sleeping hours back, which will be oh so lovely.

the murfreesboro dam has never flooded over the dam since 1969

I'll try this again...I don't think my first attempt is going to be successful.

Jessica...thanks for spending time in Murfreesboro today! We are a little town that needs all the press we can get.

I enjoyed visiting with you and "the boys" at lunch today. Ya'll come back anytime!

Jessica...we here at "Buddy's" were tickled to get to be a part of your day in Murfreesboro. I appreciate the time ya'll took to visit with us. I would like to extend an invitation to you and the crew to come back anytime and perhaps stay at our B&B, Diamond Oaks Inn. Sorry, no writing on the walls there!

Again, thank you for choosing our little town to spend your day.

Buddy
