Dangerous Waters UPDATE
I know. It seems like in the summer the only stories we do are heat related/safety stories. At least it feels that way to me. But here's the thing everyone is talking about how hot it is right now. It's only June and we're already seeing highs in the upper 90s. Beyond that, there are a lot of safety concerns with extreme heat.
Today we're continuing with the summer safety streak. We're looking into a recent spike in the number of boating accidents in Arkansas. According to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, we've already had 12 accidents this year. We had a TOTAL of 14 in 2008. We are so lucky to have so many amazing lakes here in Arkansas. The problem is sometimes people forget driving a boat has the potential to be just as dangerous as driving a car.
