Good morning!! So for my first Choose Your News assignment, ya'll have chosen the "Presidential Race in Arkansas" (and by a majority of 49%... quite a mandate). It's so hard to believe that this is the final full day of the epic 22-month presidential campaign. 22-months ago I thought I had landed in the perfect TV market for covering presidential politics. I had Hillary and Hucakbee in the race, and I was lucky enough to cover both candidates in Iowa, New Hampshire, Texas, and Indiana. But we all know how that ended up. Both candidates crashed and burned, leaving me to watch the most exciting presidential race in my lifetime on the sidelines... along with the entire state of Arkansas.
Due to McCain's double digit lead in the polls here in Arkansas, both Obama and McCain have largely ignored our state. Neither campaign has much of a presence. Obama has opened an office, but he's never campaigned here. McCain has campaigned here once or twice, but he's never opened an office. With that said, there is definitely some campaigning to be found and we're going to find it. But oh to be in Ohio or Florida right now. Stay tuned...
