Awake and Ready to Go in Pine Bluff

I can tell today is going to be a good day. When Chris and I pulled up to the Country Kitchen in Pine Bluff around 5:40 this morning there was already a huge crowd. I couldn't believe all the people and they were so awake and loud and fun! The bigger the crowd and the more fun they're having, the more I love it. Oh and the Country Kitchen's specialty just happens to be breakfast casserole, which just happens to be one of my very favorites!

I spoke with the mayor, member of the chamber of commerce and other community leaders about what to highlight here in Pine Bluff. In talking to them I realized how much there really is to do here. They have the Railroad Museum, Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame, UAPB museum, Saracen Landing and farmers market, downtown area and the Pine Bluff Jefferson County Arts and Science Center to name a few. It's a really a great mix of interesting places for a town this size.

I also have to give a big thanks to a wonderful group of people we met during dinner last night in Pine Bluff. We got to sit and talk with them for a while and they made us feel so welcome. We also all got to share that great moment last night when Kris Allen won a place in the finale of American Idol. I'm so very excited for him. He's been a fabulous ambassador for our state and I wish him all the luck in the world!

Ok, we're on to the rest of Day 19. I have no doubt it will be all kinds of fun.

Dear Burt
Don't forget "making the loop" and the annual Xmas party at the country club!
