Three months to go!

Wow! Time is really flying by fast (especially now that I’m feeling so good)! I have always heard of the 2nd trimester being the best part and it sure is for me. I’m no longer sick and I’m not big enough to be really uncomfortable.

I again want to thank all of you that have read and/or commented on this blog. The subject of infertility is not often discussed openly. Many people feel there is something “wrong” with them or they feel ashamed. It is so nice to know that so many of you have been there or are going through it. I wish all of you the very best and thank you for all of your kind words and well-wishes.

Today, I went to see Dr. Scott Davis at Arkansas Cardiology. I was diagnosed with right bundle branch block (RBBB) a couple of years ago and my OBGYN Dr. Pamela Wills wanted to be sure that that would not cause any problems with anesthesia or any other medications. Fortunately, Dr. Davis says RBBB is very minor and there shouldn’t be any problems. I will be getting an ultrasound on my heart next week just to be sure everything is in working order.

Later this week, I’ll be going in for the gestational diabetes test. I apparently have to be careful to not eat any sugar that morning and then drink a little bottle of juice that I’ve been given. Then exactly one hour later, they will take my blood. This particular appointment will be recorded by the Channel 7 Creative Services Department for our “Healthy Baby” segments sponsored by Baptist Health. I’m now the spokesperson for the segments and my own pregnancy will be followed in hopes of encouraging others to be sure they’re getting their pre-natal care that they need. So keep your eyes open for the new segments!

That’s all for now! Thanks for checking in!

The Drink: mine was a fruit punch flavor...really wasn't that bad...not that it was that good either........ to me it was very 'dry' tasting. Mine was very cold..otherwise it might've been a lil' worse..Ugh!

I also have a warning about the "juice". I could pick from lemon, lime or coke flavored. The coke flavor was good and just tasted like a flat coke. Then about 30 mins later. I got VERY light headed. It's pure sugar and makes you feel like you want to eat a big sandwich and soak it up, lol. I just wanted to lay down or go home. Just a warning you might get weak and you CAN'T eat anything. That's all. Sorry, not to scare you but I just wanted to warn you about it.

I am so glad you are feeling better now. My 5th child, Ryder, will be 2 on October 10th. Are you due around that time? What names are you thinking about?

Name Suggestion: I think Elizabeth Rachel or Rachel Elizabeth would be great. That is what I am stuck on if I were to ever have a daughter. Both are strong names I believe. Good to hear everything is going so great for you and so happy for you and your husband. I hope that you have a long career at KATV because I think you are very well liked in Arkansas and do such a good job of reporting plus have that great smile. God Bless You as you receive and entrusted to care for God's special gift to you and your husband.

Christina, Thanks so much for sharing you moments with us. My youngest daughter of 3 is due next month with her second little boy. 21mo. apart! I am so happy for you and your husband and I also wanted you to know that my husband enjoys seeing your sweet smile each night when you sign off! We go to church with several channel 7 employees and you all are the best! Belinda Woods, Little Rock

Christina, just wanted to let you know, that you have chosen an amazing OBGYN. Dr. Pamela Wills was my Dr. and she was absolutely amazing. I could not have asked for a better Dr, she was great. I am sure that you already feel the same way I did. I had to have a c-section with my daughter and I am so glad that she did it, because I was terrified of anything like that, and she talked to me the entire time and it was awesome! I hope all goes well for you and your baby girl, she will be precious!!! Take care and glad to hear you are feeling much better.

Word of warning...that "juice" stuff does not taste very well! :) I went through three bottles before I held one down. But I am very glad all is well with you and the baby. And, for me, the second trimester was the best. By the time I was 7 months, I was miserable. But then, I was carrying two. Best of luck to you!
