Rain and thunderstorms are likely across Arkansas today. A Moderate Risk for severe weather extends from central into southwestern Arkansas. Some storms could be strong or severe as the heat of the day builds and the storms develop and move in from our west.
Thunderstorms will continue as the frontal boundary itself moves into the state. The tornado threat will likely not be as high as in the Plains states yesterday, but damaging winds and hail will be a particular threat...as well as the possibility of a tornado. A few thunderstorms could persist into Wednesday, especially in the morning hours. Dry weather will then return, according to the latest models, for the end of the week and the weekend.
